So what is Artificial Intelligence?

 

Refer to the definition of Techopedia Made for this emerging technology – Artificial Intelligence(AI) they think it is “a branch of computer science that aims to create intelligent machines.” that can be achieving “certain traits” such as “Learning without any kind of supervision requires an ability to identify patterns in streams of inputs”

Natural Language Processing (NLP) 

NLP is concerned with natural language front ends to computer programs, computer-based
speech understanding, text understanding and generation, and related applications. A detailed

Computer Vision

Computer Vision is concerned with enabling a computer to see—to identify or understand what it sees, to locate what it is looking for, etc. A detailed overview of Computer Vision is given in Gevarter (1982B). (AN OVERVIEW OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS, 2018)

• Expert Systems

Expert Systems is perhaps the “hottest” topic in AI today. How do we make a computer act as if it was an expert in some domain? For example, how do we get a computer to perform medical diagnosis or VLSI design? • Problem Solving and Planning

There are many problems for which there are no experts, but nevertheless, computer programs for their solutions are needed. In addition, there are some basic planning systems that are more concerned with solution techniques than with knowledge. Historical influences in Artificial Intelligence – Robotics

The history of AI is a history of fantasies,
possibilities, demonstrations, and
promise. Ever since Homer wrote of mechanical
“tripods” waiting on the gods at dinner,
imagined mechanical assistants have been
a part of our culture. However, only in the last
half century have we, the AI community, been
able to build experimental machines that test

If we track time backward to the modern history of AI. In 1956, ten scientists convened a conference at Dartmouth College from which emerged the present field of AI.  (AN OVERVIEW OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS, 2018)And in the 1980s Natural language interfaces (NLI’s) which is the first commercial AI product. The Social Impacts
The U.S. Defense Science Board has ranked AI as one of the top 10 military technologies of the 80’s. Not only will human-level expertise and decision making capabilities show up in machines, but the task of achieving these results will help us understand how our minds work as well. ((An overview of artificial intelligence and robotics: volume 1 – artificial intelligence: part A, 2018))Not only that, there are more and more association are interested in AI technology, including Robotics,  Such as the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) (formerly the American Association for Artificial Intelligence). It is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. AAAI aims to promote research in, and responsible use of, artificial intelligence. AAAI also aims to increase public understanding of artificial intelligence, improve the teaching and training of AI practitioners, and provide guidance for research planners and funders concerning the importance and potential of current AI developments and future directions. (Aaai.org, 2018)

For The Future Timeline Plan

The target i want to achieve is become one of the expert in this area (cyber security) and join the investigation of AI, so in order to achieve that i have set up a timeline. Firstly, i have to successfully finish what i am study and find more things that i can study alone that will help me getting closer to what i want to do, and the company i want to join. Secondly, graduate from university, and i plan to work at something like the IT security Manager, after that, i will gain some excellent experience which could help me become a expert, i also looking for the AI at same time. That just a plan yet, what i really need to focus  is getting great in what i am doing now.

A Brief Explain For Cyber Security

For those people who had no idea what i am talking about, i have find out a good explanation for you:

Cyber security is a relatively new field but there is growing demand for graduates. This is due to the increased number of online transactions that we all participate in, from shopping to banking to personal records. With so many online transactions taking place, it has become imperative for organizations to look after their information security.

This means that there will be a wide variety of organizations to work for, and the work itself is also likely to be varied. IT security doesn’t necessarily mean sitting behind a computer screen all day. In fact, it is likely that it will involve more interaction with people than ever, and will involve skills like training and communication.

“Looking 10 years into the future, the roles that a security professional will be undertaking, the threats that they are facing, we don’t yet know what they are,” Associate Professor Paul Haskell-Downland said. “So you are dealing with an environment and a career which is going to be very unpredictable. You could be working at any organization, for any client, protecting any asset from any kind of attack.”

I have joined the community of computer science and IT, in that community i have read lot of forums about the important of cyber security and what should i working through out the process, i think it is supper useful for my future benefit.

Also in the reason i joined this community is not just because it will help me having a greater understanding of the job i am going to do in the future, it will also leads me to those who sharing the same aspect, same interest, they might be one of my future partner, so i would be so happy to join this community.

For Skill Audit

According to Model 1 Activity, we have develop our skill audit, and as it show the summary, there are lot of thing I had to working on.

I separate into 2 category, the first one is I enjoy to do but require further development. Such as : Networking,  Computer Literacy, Mentoring, Problem Solving, Decision making, and Project Management. For those skill, i do believe that based on my interest, i have the abilities to study them by myself.

The second one is I don’t enjoy but i have to learn it for my personal beneficial. Such as: Attention To Detail, Creativity, Facilitation, Initiative, Self Management. Those skill to be honest, I am not interest to learn it, but i know that it will pay back so much, so i have to do it if i want to become successful, one thing will help is i am good at working under pressure and i enjoy to do so,  I believe with correct amount of pressure, i will be able to learn it myself!

For My Career Aspiration

From my research, I have noticed there are few career that i want to have a go with, such as , Graduate Cyber Security Engineers¹ and Department of Defence Graduate Program²,  as well as APAC Online Marketing Specialist³.

 

I find out that those job have a major similarity, That is all of those job require the knowledge of Cyber Security, Which is what I am studying right now, and according to the Model 1 we have studied in this subject, we have noticed that if a work that gain you interest, it will work more easier and efficient than those don’t provide interest, as well as the wage is satisfied for me.

Just like what i introduced myself,  my uncle is the one bring me into the world of internet and he teach me lot of things like the important of the Cyber Security is, and how most of the company underestimate the risk it could come up, so I have strong interest in how to protect those company from the hackers.
